The Oculus, 2023

The Oculus is an intervention into the existing Stevens building at RCA, where the intention of the installation is to draw attention to the circular framework adding a sense of spontaneity and motion to the otherwise sterile and monotonous space. With research into the human and manmade, and the tensions that exist around this dichotomy, we present a mosaic of material that situates itself in this game of contrast. We urge the viewer to experience The Oculus through different angles, interacting with the different moments of refraction.
